Attention First-Year Students: Mandatory Continuing Orientation Stress Relief Sessions

Welcome back!  You have now finished your first semester of law school and received your first set of law school grades.  We know from experience that most of you are experiencing a range of emotions, not all of them good ones.

Last semester, you should have received a copy of a booklet prepared by Professor Lawrence Krieger, The Hidden Sources of Law School Stress.  If you do not have the booklet, please come to the Office of Student Services to pick one up.  As part of Continuing Orientation, you will be participating in a small group session, facilitated by a member of the faculty or administration.  Please see the schedule below and note what time, date and room your section will be meeting.   In preparation for this session, you are to carefully read Hidden Sources, and journal/write about it.  You can write anything you want, but at a minimum, you should answer the following three questions:

What reactions did you have to reading The Hidden Sources of Law School Stress?

·      What is/are the greatest sources of your stress at the beginning of your second semester?

·      What strategies have you developed to handle stress?

Note that you will not be required to share your journal responses with anyone unless you choose to do so.
