1-800-LAW-FIRM Law School Scholarship



1-800-LAW-FIRM Law School Scholarship Program Advisory Board challenges law school students to demonstrate how they would improve the legal system. The prize is a $10,000 law school scholarship.
The 1-800-LAW-FIRM Law School Scholarship Program is open to all law students who are at least 18 years of age and who will be enrolled, or will be enrolling, at an accredited United States law school in 2014-2015. Applicants will be evaluated based on their essay which must demonstrate how they would improve the legal industry during their career.  To view terms and conditions, please click on the link provided.

Appelman Law Firm Criminal Defense Law Scholarship



The Appelman Law Firm, a Minneapolis law firm, announces their first Criminal Defense Law Scholarship. They are offering a $1,000 scholarship for the upcoming fall semester to a law students who meets the eligibility requirements.
 
The recipient must be a current law school student, or has been accepted to attend law school this fall. Recipients must fill out and submit the application by 05/31/2014

THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF EMPLOYEE BENEFITS COUNSEL

SUBJECT: Any topic in the field of employee benefits law.
OPEN TO: Any J.D. and graduate (L.L.M. or S.J.D) law students enrolled at any time between August 15, 2012 and August 15, 2013.
SUBMIT BY: June 1, 2013.
PRIZES: Clarin M. Schwartz Memorial Award $1,500; Sidney M. Perlstadt Memorial Award $1,500.

Winners will be honored during the College’s annual black tie dinner on November 9, 2013 in New Orleans. They will receive a plaque and an employee benefits treatise published by BNA Books. If deemed suitable by the editors, one or more of the winning papers will be published by the BNA Pension and Benefits Reporter, the BNA Tax Management Compensation Planning Journal or another employee benefits publication. The winning papers will also be distributed to the Fellows of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel, who are experienced attorneys that have made significant contributions to the advancement of the employee benefits field in a wide range of practice settings including law and consulting firms, universities, labor unions, advocacy organizations and government agencies throughout the United States.

ABA’s 2014 Energy Law Student Writing Competition


The ABA Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources’ Renewable, Alternative, and Distributed Energy Resources Committee is pleased to announce the 2014 Energy Law Student Writing Competition.

2014 Topic: Any issue related to energy law—you may advocate a position, educate an audience on an issue, analyze a case, etc.  In addition to the cash awards, winning entries will be published nationwide, as they have in past years, in one of the ABA committee electronic publications.
