Foundation Law School Scholarship

  • The Hudson County Bar Association is pleased to announce a scholarship to Touro Law Student's for the upcoming school year.
  • All awards are distributed at the discretion of the Hudson County Bar Foundation Scholarship Committee.
  • Personal Statement: The Applicant MUST submit a typed, double-spaced Personal Statement with his or her scholarship application. The personal statement shall not exceed two pages in length. Scholarship applications accompanied by a personal statement not in conformance with these guidelines will not be considered.
  • All Applicants must be enrolled in or admitted to an accredited ABA-approved law school at the time of the interview in order to be eligible for a scholarship award.
  • Deadline: submissions must be postmarked no later than April 28, 2018, to be considered.

  Reeves Law Group $3,000 scholarship
  • Touro Law is pleased to announce that this year the Reeves Law Group is offering a $3000 scholarship.
  • Specifically, the Reeves Law Group is awarding a $3,000 scholarship to a deserving law student who authors a winning essay in our Sixth Annual Scholarship Essay Contest.
  • For the Sixth Annual Scholarship Contest the winning applicant must demonstrate through past, current and expected future deeds a genuine commitment to serve the less-fortunate.
  • The judges would like to know about contributions you may have made or are currently making to help, for example, a non-profit institution, a specific group, your local community, or the public at large.
  • Requirements: please submit a brief narrative, starting with an introduction about who you are, your interests, and anything else you feel we should know about you. Then, please provide your entry in 750-1000 words in the form of an essay, or Prezi/Powerpoint presentation.
  • Deadline: The deadline for this scholarship is December 15th, 2018.

9th Annual Religious Liberty 
Student Writing Competition
  • Touro Law is proud to announce the 9th Annual Religious Liberty Student Writing Competition, with prizes of $4,000 to 1st place, $3,000 to 2nd place, $2,000 to 3rd place, and $1,000 to honorable mention. 
  • The purpose of the writing competition is to promote legal and academic studies in the field of religious liberty by law students and students pursuing related graduate studied. 
  • Format: Scholarly papers must relate to the topic of domestic or international religious liberty, broadly or narrowly construed, consisting of 9,000-13,000 words, including footnotes. 
  • Papers should be submitted by e-mail topapers@jrclsdc.org in pdf and/or docx formats. 
  • Deadline: all papers must be submitted on or before July 1, 2018.

Judge Bernard S. Meyer $5,000 Scholarship
  • (ATTENTION DEADLINE APPROACHING - 4/13/18) The New York Bar Foundation is pleased to announce the 2018 Judge Bernard S. Meyer $5,000 Scholarship.
  • Established in 2004 by the law firm, Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C., the scholarship will be awarded to a law school student who excels in legal writing and advocacy skills.
  • Eligibility: The scholarship is open to all second-year (2L) students as of spring 2018 semester enrolled in a law school in the State of New York.
  • Essay topic: The essay must display excellence in legal writing and advocacy skills and the topic must relate to the law.
  • Deadline: The deadline date for essay submission is Friday, April 13, 2018.

Mike Edison $5,000 Scholarship
  • The American Association for Justice (AAJ) is proud to announce its $5,000 scholarship Mike Edison Scholarship.
  • This scholarship awards $5,000 annually to a female student entering her third year of law school.
  • The applicant must demonstrate a commitment to a career as a trial lawyer, along with dedication to upholding and defending the principles of the Constitution, to the concept of a fair trial, to the adversary system, and a just result for the injured, the accused, and those whose rights are jeopardized.
  • The winner must attend the 2018 AAJ Annual Convention in Denver, Colorado. in July 2018, in order to accept the scholarship (travel and accommodations will be provided).
  • Deadline: the essay and application must be submitted by May 1, 2018.

Trial Advocacy $3,000 Scholarship
  • The American Association for Justice (AAJ) is proud to announce its $3,000 scholarship Trial Advocacy Scholarship.
  • This scholarship is open to all AAJ (American Associate of Justice) Law Student Members who are entering their second or third year of law school. This $3,000 scholarship is awarded to the applicant who best demonstrates the following:
    1. Interest and proficiency in trial advocacy skills;
    2. Desire to represent those who have been injured by the negligence or misconduct of others;
    3. Support of a civil justice system that promotes accountability and safety;
    4. Commitment to AAJ and its mission by involvement in AAJ law student and Minority Caucus activities;
    5. and demonstrates financial need.

AAJ's Minority Caucus $5,000 Scholarship
  • The American Association for Justice (AAJ) is proud to announce that AAJ's Minority Caucus will award a $5,000 scholarship to a minority Law Student Member who is entering his or her first, second, or third year of law school.
  • This scholarship is awarded to applicants who best meet the following criteria:(1. Interest and proficiency in trial advocacy skills) (2. Desire to represent those who have been injured by the negligence or misconduct of others) (3. Support of a civil justice system that promotes accountability and safety) (4. Commitment to AAJ and its mission by involvement in AAJ law student and Minority Caucus activities) and (5. demonstrates financial need).
  • Additionally, winners will be provided travel and accommodations to attend the 2018 AAJ Annual Convention in Denver, Colorado, in July 2018.
