The New York Bar Foundation - Fellowship and Scholarship Offers



Through generous gifts from NYSBA Sections and donors, The New York Bar Foundation offers several scholarship opportunities to law students.

ANTITRUST – Wednesday, January 11, 2017
The Antitrust Section Law Student Fellowship— (4) Value:  $6,000
The fellowship is open to all first-year (1L) and second-year (2L) students to spend the summer of 2017 (10 weeks) working on antitrust matters.

COMMERCIAL AND FEDERAL LITIGATION - Wednesday, February 1, 2017
The Commercial and Federal Litigation Section Minority Fellowship—Value:  $6,000
The fellowship is available to all 1L students currently enrolled in a law school in the State of New York. The fellowship will take place in New York City.

Corporate Counsel - Wednesday, February 1, 2017
Corporate Counsel Section Fellowship – Value: $6,000
The fellowship is available to all 2L students from a New York law school from under-represented groups capable of fulfilling the requested work hours and responsibilities. The fellowship will take place at, The Urban Justice Center, New York City.

TRUSTS AND ESTATES LAW - Wednesday, February 1, 2017
The Trusts and Estates Law Section Fellowship – Value: $5,000.00 (4)
The fellowship will be awarded to first-year (1L) and second-year (2L) law students who are currently enrolled in law schools in the State of New York to work in trusts and estates law positions in the public sector in the State of New York during the summer of 2017. 

Miriam Maccoby Netter Fellowship – Wednesday, February 1, 2017
The Miriam Maccoby Netter Fellowship, created and funded by the Intellectual Property Law Section – Value: $5,000.00 (1)
The fellowship will be presented to (1) student attending a law school in New York State to assist with the organization’s intellectual property law matters. The student must be enrolled in law school located in New York State during 2017 or have received their J.D. any time within the last 3 years to participate in the summer 2017 fellowship.

HEALTH LAW - Wednesday, February 15, 2017
Diversity Summer Fellowship in Health Law
The fellowship will be awarded to law students who are currently enrolled in law schools in the State of New York to work in Health law positions in the public sector in the State of New York during the summer of 2017. (More information will be announced at a later date.)
