2015 Bi-Annual Scholarship Essay

The 2015 essay contest

In order to participate, applicants must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited United States college or university in the near future and should write a 500-word essay responding to the following question:
The workers’ compensation program exists to ensure that people who develop work-related illnesses or are injured on the job receive compensation. It is a no-fault system, meaning that workers generally receive benefits regardless of who caused the accident. In return for this security, workers are generally barred from suing their employers for negligence resulting in illness or injury. There are some exceptions to this rule, however, and there are some circumstances in which an employee may sue his or her employer. In your personal opinion, what circumstances would warrant such a lawsuit, and why?
If you make it to the finals, then it will be time for you to show and share your work with others!
The more likes your essay receives, the better your chance to win.
How to apply: Applicants should submit their responses as an attachment to zzlscholarship@gmail.com by 12/01/2015.
