Ruth Whitehead Whaley Scholarship
- The Association of Black Women Attorneys is pleased to announce the annual Ruth Whitehead Whaley Scholarship.
- The Ruth Whitehead Whaley Scholarship is named in honor of Ruth Whitehead Whaley, a legal pioneer and the first African American woman admitted to the New York State Bar.
- The ABWA Ruth Whitehead Whaley Scholarship awards law students who strive beyond the rigors of law school and demonstrate a commitment to public interest, civil rights and actively participate in their community.
- Students must also demonstrate a financial need and be enrolled at an accredited law school in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut.
