2014 MARIO G. OBLEDO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

HNBA LEGAL EDUCATION FUND ANNOUNCES THE MARIO G. OBLEDO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
APPLY NOW!

The Fund's Board of Directors established the Mario G. Obledo Memorial Scholarship in 2010, shortly after Dr. Obledo's passing earlier that same year. Obledo was a remarkable champion for Latino civil rights and the development of Latino attorneys. He co-founded the HNBA and MALDEF and led several civil rights organizations, both Hispanic and mainstream. The Fund's scholarship program is a fitting tribute to Obledo and will be awarded to a Hispanic law student that best exemplifies the life, aspirations and commitments of Mario Obledo. The Obledo Memorial Scholarship will be funded at $10,000 as a single award to a deserving law student enrolled at the time of application at an American Bar Association accredited school of law.
