AAJ Women for Justice Education Fund's 2020 Mike Eidson Scholarship

The Mike Eidson Scholarship Fund was established by the AAJ Women Trial Lawyers Caucus in 2008, in honor of AAJ Past President Mike Eidson, whose vision and generosity inspired it.  The Scholarship, traditionally given in the amount of $5,000, is awarded annually to a rising 3L (or rising 4L in a night program) female student who has demonstrated a commitment to a career as a trial lawyer, along with dedication to upholding and defending the principles of the Constitution, and to the concept of a fair trial, the adversary system, and a just result for the injured, the accused, and those whose rights are jeopardized.

The application deadline is May 1, 2020 and the Scholarship will be awarded at the AAJ Annual Convention, which will take place this year on July 11-14, 2020 in Washington, D.C.

Vietnamese American Bar Association of the Greater Washington DC Area Scholarship

The Vietnamese American Bar Association of the Greater Washington DC Area (VABA-DC) was established, in part, to contribute to the public interest by serving as a voice for the local Vietnamese American community and assisting community members with legal concerns. In furtherance of that mission, we are proud to sponsor a $2,500 scholarship for law students who have served or plan to serve the Vietnamese American community or have overcome significant adversity in achieving their academic goals.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of community service, academic performance, and their written essay. The scholarship recipient(s) will be expected to attend the VABA-DC Scholarship Dinner in their honor to be held in April 2020.

The deadline for applications is March 1, 2020. CLICK HERE to visit the website and view the application.
