2017 Cole Schotz Diversity Scholarship Program


Cole Schotz P.C is offering a $5,000 scholarship to a second year, full-time law student in good standing. 

To be eligible the applicant must be:
  • A full-time student in good standing who will complete his/her first year of law school at an ABA accredited Law School by July 1, 2017.
  • Have achieved a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 at his/her undergraduate school and law school. 
  • A citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America as well as attend an ABA accredited law school in a state where Cole Schotz’s offices are located: Delaware, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, New York or Texas. 
  • The applicant must not be the recipient of another diversity scholarship award. 
The following items must be submitted, in addition to the application:
  • Official undergraduate transcript; 
  • Official first-year law school transcript;
  • Current resume;
  • A typed personal statement of 750 words or less. The statement must include information about (1) why the candidate wishes to pursue a career in law; and (2) how the candidate’s background, life experiences and/or goals as an attorney would improve diversity in the field of law; 
  • Proof of residency; 
  • List of all scholarships and grants you have received or will receive for the next academic year. Please provide the amount of each scholarship and grant.

The American Association of Nurse Attorneys Annual Meeting and Educational Conference

The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TAANA) will be sponsoring 10 to 15 students to attend the Annual Meeting and Educational Conference in August in Boston. The sponsorship will cover the conference attendance admission fee.  Students will have to pay for their travel and hotel.  This will be a great networking opportunity.

STEPHEN E. HERRMANN ENVIRONMENTAL WRITING AWARD



The American College of Environmental Lawyers (“ACOEL”) announces its annual Stephen E. Herrmann Environmental Writing Award (“Herrmann Award”).

Award:

The Herrmann Award is a stipend of $3,500 to the author of the winning submission, whether an article, note, case comment or essay, and $500 to the submitting law journal. The winner of the Herrmann Award will be invited to present his or her submission to the Fellows at the ACOEL Annual Meeting.

Eligibility:

Student edited law journals or equivalent publications published by accredited U.S. law schools are eligible to submit annually a single candidate article, note, case comment or essay selected for its ability to promote understanding of legal issues in the broad field of environmental law, including natural resources law and/or environmental or resources aspects of energy law.
