Notre Dame Law School is sponsoring the Smith-Doheny Legal Ethics Writing Competition.  All students with an interest in legal ethics are invited and encouraged to participate.

Biunno Scholarship Program 2014-2015


The Essex County Bar Association (ECBA) and its Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, in conjunction with the Honorable Vincent J. Biunno Memorial Fund, is pleased to announce the continuation of the Biunno Scholarship Program for the 2014-2015 school year.

The scholarships are designed to offer financial assistance to persons with disabilities who are currently attending law school.

Law Students for Reproductive Justice RJFP-HIV Fellowship


Law Students for Reproductive Justice (LSRJ) is thrilled to announce the new RJFP - HIV Fellowship,which will place two recent law school graduates at leading organizations engaged in policy work at the intersection of RJ and HIV, Positive Women's Network USA in Oakland, California, and SisterLove in Atlanta, Georgia. The RJ HIV Fellows will assist in research, interpretation, and application of law to aid the placement organizations' education, organizing, publication, and policy pursuits. 

The RJFP-HIV Fellowship Application can be downloaded here and is due May 7, 2014.

The RJFP-HIV Fellowship is a pilot program and the next phase of the Washington, D.C.-based Reproductive Justice Fellowship Program (RJFP). Since launching the RJFP in 2010, LSRJ has been helping to change the face of RJ lawyering by vastly increasing the number of entry-points into the reproductive rights and justice field while providing critical legal capacity to allied organizations.

U.S. Court of Federal Claims Bar Association Law Student Writing Competition 2013-2014


The U.S. Court of Federal Claims Bar Association is pleased to announce its annual Law Student Writing Competition for the 2013-14 academic year. 

All students enrolled in your school are eligible to participate in this competition.   The winning entry will receive a cash prize and an opportunity to be published via the Association’s website.  Entries may address any topic that lies within the procedure, substance, or scope of the jurisdiction of the Unites States Court of Federal Claims.  Papers prepared for class work may be submitted in accordance with the Competition’s rules.  

A formal announcement for the writing competition is attached to this email, and the rules of the contest are posted on the Association’s website at: http://www.cfcbar.org/writing-competition.  The entry deadline for submissions is July 18, 2014.

The New York Bar Foundation's 2014 Judge Bernard S. Meyer Scholarship

The New York Bar Foundation is pleased to announce it is accepting applications for the 2014 Judge Bernard S. Meyer Scholarship.

The scholarships will be awarded to a law school student who excels in legal writing and advocacy skills.

Federal Circuit Bar Association (FCBA)



The FCBA is the national organization for the bar of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington DC. They sponsor numerous intellectual property law related programs relevant to law students and award scholarships. They also hold a national conference every year and publish articles through the Federal Circuit Bar Journal and FCBA Newsletter. Notably, all of their webinars are now offered for free to members. DRI 2014 Annual Law Student Diversity Scholarship

DRI announces its annual Law Student Diversity Scholarship program open to rising (2014–15) second- and third-year African American, Hispanic, Asian, and Native American students. All rising second- and third year female law students are also eligible, regardless of race or ethnicity. Any other rising second- and third-year law students who also come from backgrounds that would add to the cause of diversity, regardless of race or gender are eligible to apply. Students who are members of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), Law School or Law Student members of AAJ or students otherwise affiliated with or employed by AAJ are not eligible for DRI Law Student Diversity Scholarships.

Two scholarships in the amount of $10,000 each will be awarded to applicants who best meet the following criteria:
• Demonstrated academic excellence
• Service to the profession
• Service to the community
• Service to the cause of diversity

Saratoga County Bar Association Law Student Scholarship

The Saratoga County Bar Association is offering two $1,000 scholarships to residents of Saratoga County who are in their 2nd or 3rd year of law school.The scholarship committee considers an applicant's class rank, demonstration of leadership, community involvement and financial need. 

Winner will be recognized at the annual Law Day Luncheon on May 1, 2014 at the Canfield Casino at Saratoga Springs. 

Applications must be postmarked by April 1, 2014.

2014 Trusts and Estates Law Section Fellowship



The New York Bar Foundation is pleased to announce the 2014 Trusts and Estates Law Section Fellowship which has been established by the Foundation through a gift from the Trusts and Estates Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. The Fellowship will be awarded to three second-year (2L) law students who are currently enrolled in law schools in the State of New York to work in trusts and estates law positions in the public sector in the State of New York during the summer of 2014.

2014 PRBA Scholarship Awards Program for Latino law students


The Puerto Rican Bar Association (PRBA) Scholarship Fund, Inc. has announced the availability of its applications for the 2014 PRBA Scholarship Awards Program for Latino law students. All Latino law students residing permanently, or attending law school, in New York State are eligible to apply for the Scholarship Awards, which range between $2,000 to $2,500, subject to certain restrictions and availability. 


The deadline to submit applications is April 18, 2014.

All applicants will be reviewed based on academics, financial need and community involvement. The scholarship awards will be presented during the PRBA's Annual Scholarship Gala to be held on May 14, 2014, at the trendy Tribeca 360, NYC, and photos of the recipients and their biographies will be published in the Scholarship Gala Journal. All recipients will be notified prior to the gala by the PRBA Scholarship Committee. The American Association for Justice (AAJ) 2014 Law Student Scholarship


The American Association for Justice (AAJ) is proud to announce its 2014 Law Student Scholarship cycle has begun. AAJ has four scholarships available for qualified law students.

The Brandeis Association Scholarships


The Brandeis Association will be awarding two scholarships of $4,500 per student, the Jerome M. Ginsberg Scholarship and the Hon. Moses M. Weinstein Scholarship. These scholarships are intended for all Jewish law students in their 2nd or 3rd year of study who are residents of Queens County or who are attending law school in Queens County.  The awards will be based on financial need, legal scholarship and community involvement. 

Application deadline is April 5, 2014
