ASECA Securities Law Writing Competition 2011
Association of Securities and Exchange Commission Alumni, Inc. (ASECA) Annual Writing Competition. Prizes are awarded for outstanding papers in the field of securities law. Three prizes will be awarded at ASECA's annual dinner on Friday, February 24, 2012 in Washington, D.C.: $5,000 for first place, $3,000 for second place, and $2,000 for third place.

2012 Donald C. Alexander Tax Law Writing Competition
The Federal Bar Association Section on Taxation is pleased to announce the 2012 Donald C. Alexander Tax Law Writing Competition. All full-time and part-time J.D. and LL.M. candidates are eligible to submit entries.
The winning authors will receive a cash prize ($2,000 for first place and $1,000 for second place) and a trip to the FBA's Annual Tax Law Conference in Washington, D.C. The winning article may also be published by the FBA Section on Taxation.

2011 Real Property Law Section Lorraine Power Tharp Scholarship
The New York Bar Foundation is accepting applications for the 2011 Real Property Law Section Lorraine Power Tharp Scholarship.
A completed application and supporting documentation as detailed in the guidelines must be submitted to The New York Bar Foundation on or before Friday, September 30, 2011.
One $1,500.00 scholarship will be awarded to a second- or third-year law student (as of fall semester 2011) who best exemplifies the core values important to Lorraine Power Tharp–academic excellence, a demonstrated interest in public service, high integrity and, if possible, an interest in real property law. A preference will be given to a student who demonstrates financial need. The scholarship will be applied to the student’s 2011-2012 academic year tuition.

The Donald W. Banner Diversity Scholarship is part of Banner & Witcoff's continuing commitment to fostering the development of intellectual property lawyers from diverse backgrounds. The scholarship is open to all students currently enrolled in an ABA accredited law school and pursuing a career in intellectual property. The applicant must be a member of a historically under represented group (including race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and disability) and must have exemplary writing and oral communication skills.
