The National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL) has established the annual Selma Moidel Smith Law Student Writing Competition to encourage and reward original law student writing on issues concerning women and the law.

Queens County Bar Association Law Student Scholarship

The Queens County Bar Association will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving law student in the spring. Click on the link below for a copy of the QCBA application which consists of four (4) pages, excluding the cover page. Please complete the entire application. All information submitted will be held strictly confidential.

The scholarship will be based upon personal financial need, a commitment to community service and academic achievement as demonstrated by your personal statement and recommendation letters. If you have not been involved in community service or public interest law, you will not qualify. You must be currently enrolled in a law school in the Metropolitan Area or be a resident of Queens County. All are encouraged to apply.
The recommendation letters must be attached to the application. FAXES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

2011-2012 PRBA Scholarship Awards Program for Latino law students

The Puerto Rican Bar Association (PRBA) Scholarship Fund, Inc. is pleased to announce the availability of its applications for the 2011-2012 PRBA Scholarship Awards Program for Latino law students.

All Latino law students residing permanently, or attending law school, in New York State are eligible to apply for the Scholarship Awards, which range between $1,500 to $2,000, subject to certain restrictions.

All applicants will be reviewed based on academics, financial need and community involvement.

The scholarship awards will be presented during the PRBA's Annual Scholarship Gala to be held on May 12, 2011, at the Hilton, NYC, and photos of the recipients and their biographies will be published in the Scholarship Gala Journal.

Hudson County Bar Foundation Scholarship Application

The Hudson County Bar Foundation will award scholarships to students who are attending law school or who have been accepted to law school for the September 2011 – May 2012 term.

The Hudson County Bar Foundation Scholarship Fund is one of the oldest providers of financial assistance to Hudson County law students. Esteemed members and families of the Hudson County legal community have funded these 43 scholarships.

Students must be a bona fide resident of Hudson County; must demonstrate financial need; must provide two (2) current Letters of Recommendation and must account for appropriate academic standards.
