Legal Research and Writing Competition sponsored by DISH Network

Legal Research and Writing Competition focused on eDiscovery sponsored by DISH Network. There is a prize for the top submission and the paper does not need to be lengthy (indeed length must not exceed 5,000 total words) – just good. In fact, the top three submissions will win cash prizes and garner some publicity about the accomplishment.

This year’s topic is “Under what standard should a court subject an employee’s non-business personal computing activities (e.g., social media, documents stored on a personal computer, and/or personal email accounts) to civil discovery involving her or his employer?”

Entrants must be eligible law school students who (a) have obtained a baccalaureate degree or equivalent from an accredited institution and (b) are or will be enrolled in an ABA-accredited law program in the United States on the date of submission. Full rules are available at the competition website: http://www.dishediscovery.com. The submission deadline this year is December 1, 2012.
