Touro Law Career Services and PILOT are sponsoring the program How I Spent My Summer, where the Berg and REVSON Fellows will talk about their summer 2010 internships . This program is open to all students and will be held on Tuesday, August 24 from 12:30-1:20 p.m. in the FCR. Lunch will be served.
Please also join us for the Twenty-first Annual Public Interest Career Reception on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:30 pm at the N Y City Bar Association, 42 West 44th Street, New York, NY, between 5th and 6th Avenue (public transportation: subways-- 42nd Street on the B, D, F, V and 7 train; short walk from Penn Station LIRR/NJ Transit and Grand Central/Metro North stations.) The Reception is co-sponsored by 18 law schools in the tri-state area, including Touro Law.
There are a wide variety of opportunities in public interest/service practice which includes work with non-profit organizations, government agencies, and private public interest law firms. The Reception should be valuable to you regardless of whether you are
• committed to becoming a public interest lawyer
• are interested in exploring career paths
• want to learn about such practice areas for internships while in law school
• are interested in organizations you can partner with for pro bono work if you work at a firm
The event was established to introduce you to and highlight outstanding and rewarding work done in the public service as you begin your law school career. Participation in the Public Interest Career Reception will enable you to make contacts and talk with public interest practitioners about their work and experiences. You will gain a significantly greater understanding of the range of public interest/public service work, and enable you to make better choices during your planning process and job search.
