Moot Court Board's Intra-School Appellate Advocacy Competition

Attention 1L Students: The Moot Court Board is looking for volunteer timekeepers and bailiffs for their intra-school Appellate Advocacy Competition to be held at the Law Center on Sunday, September 13, 9:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Over fifty practicing attorneys and judges will be in attendance. The Yes Men Fix the World (http://www.theyesmenfixtheworld.com/), starts a 2-week run at the Film Forum in lower Manhattan on October 7th.

To be easy on your budget, Film Forum is offering half-price tickets ($6 instead of $12) for daytime screenings on the following conditions: * Monday-Friday matinees (i.e. shows at 1pm, 2:45pm, and 4:30pm, Oct.7-9, 12-16, 19-20) * .

The film is a conversation-starter for any lesson on politics, journalism,media literacy, performance art, free speech, or productive goofing off. They are finishing up a great teaching guide that they'll send you well before the screening.

Annual Fund Phone-A-Thon

The Office of Development, Alumni Relations and Communications will be conducting this year’s Annual Fund Phone-A-Thon beginning October 26, 2009 and ending October 29, 2009. This is a great opportunity for students to network with alumni while helping raise money for the Annual Fund. Students will be compensated for their time or they can choose to donate their pay to a student organization. Student organizations are welcome to work the Phone-A-Thon as a fulfillment of their community service requirements.

Donations to the Annual Fund support student scholarships, financial aid, academic programs and library enhancements.
